What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a mutually agreed upon relationship between a coach and a client which facilitates the discovery of the client's values and vision for his/her life while encouraging deliberate actions geared toward achieving that vision.

Whew!  What is that saying?  All it is saying is that coaching is like working with a trusted friend who will help you discover what you already know inside of yourself, and put that knowledge into action to create the life that you want!  Sounds good, doesn't it?

What life coaching is NOT:

Life coaching is not therapy, mentoring or consulting.

Generally, therapy assumes that something is 'wrong' and looks backward in an effort to fix it.  Coaching does not assume that anything is wrong.  It takes you from where you are and moves you forward.

Coaching is not mentoring.  A life coach does not presume to be an expert in the area in which the client chooses to focus.

Coaching is not consulting.  The coach will not give the client advice or direct their journey.

As your life coach, I believe that you are the expert of your life and that you hold all of the resources and wisdom required to create the life you want.  My job is to bring it out of you and hold you accountable as you make the changes that you desire.
