What is coaching?

Coaching is a mutually agreed upon relationship between coach and client which facilitates the discovery of the client's  values and vision for his/her life while encouraging deliberate actions geared toward achieving that vision.

How is coaching different than therapy?

Therapy works under the assumption that something is wrong and looks back to "fix" it.  Coaching does NOT assume that something is wrong.  It takes a forward looking approach using the clients own resources to achieve the desired outcome.

Who hires a coach?

Anyone who is looking to have more of something in their life.  It may be the person who knows what he wants but needs to be accountable to someone in order to follow through.  It may be the person who doesn't know what she wants, but knows she doesn't have it.  It may be the person who is at a transitional time in his life and is seeking direction.

How does it work?

The coach and client enter into a trusting partnership.  The coach will use structured tools and compelling questions to draw out what the client already knows, help them come up with an action plan, and hold them accountable.

How long will it take?

It depends.  Some people get what they want in a relatively short period of time, while others may continue the coaching relationship for years.  To give yourself the opportunity to get the desired result you should come prepared to invest a minimum of 3-6 months.

Will I get what I want?

While there is no guarantee you will get exactly what you want, if you truly desire to make changes in your life and trust the process, you will experience more value (joy) than you can now imagine!  You may also learn that what you thought you wanted wasn't really what you wanted after all, and end up getting something even more fulfilling!

What if I still don't understand?
